Inspired by hyperbolic planes, handcrafted by artist, Shakeera Thomas.
As an avid gardener, the artist's designs began as an inspiration and influence by patterns and geometry in nature and have evolved to embody the theory of the hyperbolic plane. A hyperbolic plane, the geometric opposite of a sphere, is a surface in which the space expands as it bends in arcs away from itself at each point. The geometry of the hyperbolic can be seen in nature such as lettuce leaves.
